Job Overview
Jibit is looking for a Platform Engineer to run and grow the platform our engineering teams build on production Kubernetes clusters on bare metal the stateful data services behind them and the internal tools that make deploying and operating services simple and safe
You will treat the platform as a product gather requirements from engineering teams build internal tools and services mainly in Go ship in small iterations and measure adoption You will also own monitoring and reliability for the platform join the on call rotation and apply the security and compliance practices expected in payments
Responsibilities
Operate upgrade and scale production Kubernetes clusters on bare metal including etcd health control plane recovery and node lifecycle and own cluster add ons ingress CNI storage certificates secrets management and autoscaling
Define and enforce standards for namespaces resource quotas RBAC network policies and pod security and maintain GitOps and CI CD pipelines that take services from commit to production safely
Run and support stateful data services relational and distributed SQL databases in memory caches and message brokers on Kubernetes and on dedicated servers owning backup restore testing replication failover and capacity planning for each
Work with developers on schema changes slow queries connection pooling and safe migrations
Design and build internal tools and services mainly in Go self service provisioning deployment workflows CLIs operators and controllers and APIs over our infrastructure turn repeated manual runbooks into automated tested and documented workflows
Build and maintain observability across metrics logs and traces including dashboards and alerting define SLIs SLOs and actionable alerts for the platform and shared data services and remove noisy alerts
Join the on call rotation lead incident response for platform issues and write blameless postmortems
Manage infrastructure and configuration as code including Kubernetes application packaging and manifest management apply least privilege secrets rotation audit logging and patch management and keep runbooks architecture notes and onboarding docs up to date
Qualifications
4 years in DevOps SRE or platform engineering with at least 2 years running Kubernetes in production
Deep Kubernetes knowledge scheduling networking storage RBAC upgrades and debugging failed workloads and nodes
Hands on experience operating at least one relational or distributed database in production including backup restore and failover
Production monitoring experience collecting metrics writing queries building dashboards and designing alerts people act on
Solid skills in at least one programming language you have built and shipped services CLIs or automation with tests in a team codebase
Strong Linux fundamentals and networking basics TCP IP DNS load balancing TLS routing and firewalls
Experience with infrastructure as code configuration management and CI CD pipelines including GitOps
Clear written communication runbooks design notes and postmortems others can follow
Comfortable working in Persian and reading and writing technical English
Go the main language of our internal platform is preferred plus Python and Bash for automation and glue work
Running Kubernetes on bare metal or on premises across multiple sites or data centers is a plus
Running databases on Kubernetes with operators writing your own operators and controllers or experience with distributed SQL databases is a plus
Experience with distributed tracing centralized log pipelines or building internal developer portals or platforms is a plus
Service mesh eBPF based networking or advanced Linux networking is a plus
A fintech banking or payments background work under PCI DSS or similar compliance or Kubernetes certifications administration development or security is a plus
