Position Description
At Altex we are looking for a proactive and technically skilled IT Help Desk Specialist to join our team In this role you will be responsible for providing day to day IT support to employees resolving hardware and software issues managing user access and helping maintain a stable and secure IT environment
We are looking for someone who is hands on service oriented and solution focused with the ability to troubleshoot issues independently explain technical concepts clearly to non technical users and follow requests through to complete resolution
Your Responsibilities at Altex
IT Support Respond to and resolve employees IT requests through the Ticketing System in person or remotely and follow up until complete resolution Escalate complex issues to specialized technical teams when required
Hardware Software Support Install configure maintain and troubleshoot operating systems primarily Windows with basic support for macOS and Linux as well as software laptops printers and other IT peripherals
Network Support Troubleshoot user connectivity issues related to LAN Wi Fi and VPN and provide basic support for network equipment such as Switches Routers and Access Points
User Access Management Manage user accounts and access permissions to shared resources through Active Directory and ensure appropriate access based on organizational requirements
Business Tools Support Provide support for Mattermost Outlook email services and two factor authentication 2FA tools
System Maintenance Security Perform routine system updates monitor antivirus status and follow up on backup status to help maintain the stability and security of the IT environment
IT Asset Management Maintain and periodically inspect IT equipment keep IT asset records up to date and track the status of company hardware and peripherals
Documentation Knowledge Base Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions maintain the IT Knowledge Base and create and update user guides to improve the efficiency and quality of internal IT support
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of professional experience in IT Support or Help Desk roles
Strong knowledge of Windows and hands on experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues
Familiarity with fundamental networking concepts including TCP IP DNS DHCP and VPN
Familiarity with Active Directory and Microsoft 365 Outlook
Ability to read and understand technical documentation in English
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with a hands on approach
Ability to explain technical issues and solutions clearly to non technical users
Ability to prioritize requests manage multiple tickets and follow issues through to complete resolution
Strong communication teamwork and service oriented skills
Nice to Have
Familiarity with MikroTik Windows Server Exchange or VoIP
CompTIA A CCNA or MCSA certification
Experience working in environments with high security and operational requirements particularly Fintech or financial services
