Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced VMware Infrastructure Team Lead to lead and manage our virtualization infrastructure operations and technical team
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing implementing managing maintaining and optimizing enterprise VMware environments This role requires strong hands on technical expertise in VMware technologies data center infrastructure high availability disaster recovery and infrastructure automation along with the ability to lead technical teams and coordinate infrastructure projects
The successful candidate will ensure the stability availability performance and scalability of virtualization platforms while driving infrastructure improvements and maintaining operational standards
Key Responsibilities
1 Team Leadership Technical Management
Lead and supervise the VMware virtualization infrastructure team
Assign technical tasks prioritize activities and monitor team performance
Provide technical guidance and support to team members
Review technical implementations and ensure compliance with infrastructure standards
Coordinate with network storage security and other IT teams
Oversee daily operations and ensure timely resolution of technical issues
2 VMware Infrastructure Design Management
Design deploy configure and manage enterprise VMware virtualization environments
Administer VMware vSphere ESXi and vCenter Server
Design and implement scalable and highly available virtualization architectures
Manage VMware vSAN and VMware NSX T environments
Participate in Private Cloud and Hybrid Cloud infrastructure projects
Manage virtual machines ESXi hosts and virtualization resources
3 Infrastructure Operations Optimization
Monitor and maintain the availability health and performance of virtualization environments
Manage CPU RAM storage and network resource allocation
Configure and manage VMware DRS HA vMotion and Storage vMotion
Perform VMware upgrades patch management and lifecycle management
Coordinate server firmware and hardware maintenance for HPE and Dell infrastructure
Conduct capacity planning and optimize infrastructure resource utilization
Ensure infrastructure operations comply with service level agreements SLAs
4 High Availability Disaster Recovery
Design and implement High Availability HA and Disaster Recovery DR solutions
Manage VMware Site Recovery Manager SRM and replication technologies
Develop and execute failover and failback scenarios
Plan and conduct periodic disaster recovery tests
Ensure infrastructure resilience and business continuity
5 Automation Scripting
Develop and maintain automation scripts using VMware PowerCLI and PowerShell
Automate repetitive infrastructure administration and maintenance tasks
Utilize Bash scripting for infrastructure management and troubleshooting
Support automated virtual machine provisioning and lifecycle management
Collaborate on infrastructure automation and orchestration initiatives
6 Troubleshooting Technical Support
Lead the investigation and resolution of complex virtualization infrastructure issues
Perform Root Cause Analysis RCA for critical incidents and service disruptions
Handle Tier 3 technical escalations
Analyze VMware logs events and performance metrics
Coordinate with network storage security and database teams to resolve infrastructure related incidents
Maintain technical documentation and troubleshooting procedures
7 Infrastructure Projects Collaboration
Lead and participate in virtualization infrastructure deployment migration and upgrade projects
Coordinate data center expansion and infrastructure modernization initiatives
Evaluate new virtualization technologies and recommend improvements
Participate in Private Cloud and Hybrid Cloud implementation projects
Ensure technical project deliverables meet operational and business requirements
Requirements
Bachelor s degree in Computer Engineering Information Technology or a related field
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in VMware virtualization and infrastructure management
Proven experience in technical team leadership or supervision
Strong hands on experience with VMware vSphere ESXi and vCenter Server
Experience in designing implementing and managing enterprise virtualization environments
Advanced knowledge of VMware HA DRS vMotion and Disaster Recovery technologies
Strong understanding of data center architecture server infrastructure storage and networking
Experience working with HPE and Dell enterprise server infrastructure
Familiarity with VMware NSX T vSAN and Private Cloud environments
Experience with PowerCLI PowerShell and Bash scripting
Strong troubleshooting analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to manage technical projects and coordinate cross functional teams
Strong technical documentation and communication skills
