Key Responsibilities
Monitor data center traffic and core services Mobile SMS USSD and other platforms to detect potential anomalies in real time
Continuously monitor data center nodes and services ensuring prompt notification of any disruptions
Identify security events within the data center network and immediately escalate them to the relevant authority for corrective action
Notify stakeholders of identified issues via ticketing systems SMS and email for timely response
Follow up on incident resolution processes with relevant teams providing appropriate solutions and up to date status reports
Update tickets and documentation thoroughly following issue resolution to ensure data accuracy and proper process closure
Ensure smooth and accurate shift handovers and coordinate effectively with incoming outgoing shift personnel to maintain operational continuity
Verify backup processes and data preservation protocols to ensure the latest configuration files are securely maintained
Review and follow up on Data Center Change Requests CR to identify potential impacts and maintain monitoring control
Collaborate closely with equipment vendors and contractors during the installation and deployment of data center assets
Maintain a safe working environment and report any unsafe conditions to the HSE department
Key Professional Competencies Tools
Technical Knowledge Solid understanding of data center network infrastructure operating systems virtualization and server hardware
Monitoring Expertise Hands on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as PRTG SolarWinds Zabbix Grafana Splunk and QlikView
Systems Virtualization Familiarity with Linux Windows OS ESXi KVM Virtualization tools and Firewalls
Frameworks Awareness of monitoring processes ITIL standards and change management procedures
Soft Skills Strong problem solving analytical thinking effective communication stress management and teamwork skills
Language Good command of English reading and writing
Qualifications Experience
Education Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering Telecommunications Electronics Power Control Computer Engineering IT or ICT
Experience Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a network operations or data center environment
