Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for a Front End team owning engineering decisions execution and technical alignment
Own the end to end technical delivery of complex Front End initiatives from design and planning to production
Translate product priorities into clear technical plans milestones and sequencing the team can execute
Set and maintain high standards for code quality architecture testing performance and maintainability enforced in CI not dependent on who reviews the PR
Lead design reviews and technical discussions make the call when the team can t converge and document the alternatives considered
Identify technical risks dependencies and bottlenecks early and drive them to resolution rather than escalating them
Collaborate closely with Product Design Backend QA and DevOps to ensure effective cross functional execution
Own production health for the team s surfaces errors performance and UX metrics on real users and lead incident response and post mortems through to closed action items
Drive performance optimization with measurable targets Core Web Vitals on field data bundle budgets code splitting and rendering performance
Guide the team in selecting state management caching and data layer patterns with clear loading and error semantics
Improve developer experience through tooling documentation workflows and build and CI performance
Ensure accessibility responsive UX cross browser compatibility SEO and Front End security are considered in technical decisions not retrofitted
Manage technical debt deliberately know what the team carries what it costs and when it gets paid down
Grow engineers through 1 1s clear expectations honest feedback code reviews and knowledge sharing teaching for juniors reframing for seniors
Distribute work deliberately including the invisible work so no contribution goes unrecognized and no single engineer becomes a bottleneck
Contribute to hiring technical interviews onboarding and the continuous improvement of engineering practices
Use AI coding agents effectively delegate mechanical work migrations refactors test scaffolding engineer the context rather than just the prompt and set guardrails so the team owns its output as if hand written
Build reusable AI assets for the team prompt patterns schemas workflows and recognize where AI doesn t help
Requirements
5 years in Front End engineering with hands on experience building and operating production systems at scale
Proven experience leading technical initiatives or acting as a Tech Lead Team Lead
Deep command of JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals with strong hands on React and modern Front End architecture
Strong understanding of design patterns state management data flow and scalable application design
Performance expertise including Core Web Vitals and the distinction between lab and field measurement
Experience with large scale codebases and monorepos familiarity with micro frontend trade offs including when not to adopt them
Strong testing practice across unit integration and e2e with a bias toward reliability over coverage targets
Hands on experience with CI CD pipelines modern build tooling and developer workflows
Experience with Front End observability error monitoring and production troubleshooting
Solid understanding of accessibility SEO responsive design cross browser compatibility and Front End security
Strong decision making with the ability to explain trade offs in terms of cost rather than preference
Strong communication skills with the ability to align engineers and stakeholders around a decision including when it goes against your own recommendation
Demonstrated ability to grow engineers and raise a team s standards not only your own output
Practical fluency with AI coding agents and an agentic approach to problem solving
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience
