Business Data Analyst
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and analytical Business Data Analyst to join our team and turn data into actionable insights that support business performance and data driven decision making
In this role your primary focus will be on analyzing business data defining and monitoring KPIs building analytical dashboards and identifying performance and improvement opportunities
You will work as an analytical partner to business stakeholders translating complex and fragmented data into clear insights that help teams understand performance identify bottlenecks and make better decisions
The role involves close collaboration with Operations Finance Product and Data IT teams to translate business needs into data solutions and ensure the accuracy and reliability of data and reporting
Key Responsibilities
Design develop and maintain dashboards and analytical reports for business stakeholders
Define standardize and monitor business and operational KPIs such as SLA compliance cycle time error rates volume unit cost and productivity
Analyze business performance to identify trends anomalies and performance deviations
Conduct in depth data analysis and Root Cause Analysis RCA to identify underlying causes of performance issues business challenges and process bottlenecks
Transform complex multi source datasets into clear actionable insights for business leaders and stakeholders
Evaluate the quantitative impact of process changes policy updates and business initiatives
Address analytical questions and business problems and provide data driven recommendations and solutions
Identify opportunities to improve business performance and processes through data analysis and provide actionable recommendations
Collaborate with Data Engineering and IT teams to ensure the accuracy quality and availability of data used in reporting and analytics
Validate data and metrics to ensure consistency and establish a reliable single source of truth
Manage and prioritize ad hoc analytical requests while balancing them with longer term BI and analytics initiatives
Requirements
Experience Education
3 years of professional experience in Data Analysis Business Intelligence or a related analytical role
Previous experience working with Operations E commerce Fintech Insurtech or other high volume business environments is a plus
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Engineering Computer Science Statistics Economics Mathematics or a related quantitative field
Technical Skills
Strong proficiency in SQL including CTEs Window Functions Multi table Joins and complex data transformations
Hands on experience building and maintaining dashboards using modern BI tools such as Metabase Power BI Tableau or Looker
Strong understanding of KPI and Metric design particularly for business and operational functions
Advanced proficiency in Excel including Pivot Tables and Power Query
Solid understanding of statistics trend analysis variance analysis and anomaly detection
Ability to work with large multi source datasets and transform them into meaningful business insights
Soft Skills Competencies
Strong ability to understand business problems and translate them into data driven analytical questions
Excellent Data Storytelling skills and the ability to communicate complex analytical findings to non technical stakeholders
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills particularly when working with business teams and leaders
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy and integrity
Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and balance urgent analytical requests with long term initiatives
High ownership adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
Nice to Have
Experience with Python Pandas NumPy or R for data manipulation and advanced analytics
Experience with A B testing experimentation or statistical hypothesis testing
Familiarity with Git and version control systems
Previous experience in the Insurance Insurtech industry
Experience working with high volume operational data and business processes
